The Fortune Within
Marty Ward is a versatile saxophonist (tenor, alto, and soprano), songwriter, and long-time advocate for consistent, performance-ready woodwind setups. Marty first reached national audiences in the early days of his career with appearances on Star Search ’84 (hosted by Ed McMahon), and later served as the featured saxophonist on Jane Fonda’s “Walk to the Music” treadmill/workout program. Today, Marty is the Director of Artist Relations at the MIRI Corporation, the manufacturer of Fibracell Reeds, where he’s spent 25+ years helping saxophonists and clarinetists match the right reed to their horn and mouthpiece—without the day-to-day hassle many players associate with cane. As a recording artist, Marty’s music includes releases such as “Miracles In Paradise,” featuring the track “The Fortune Within.” He’s also performed on recordings for composer/producer Alan Hewitt, contributing alto/tenor/soprano sax.
